The
Advocate commenced operations in 1872 as the Riponshire Advocate
serving Beaufort and district. In the mid 1990's, the name changed to
the Pyrenees Advocate to reflect the new, larger Pyrenees Shire which
brought together the municipalities of Ripon, Avoca and Lexton.
With offices in both Avoca and Beaufort, the Pyrenees Advocate is able
to provide a full coverage of news and advertising throughout the whole
Shire.
